Notice of Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 5:00 PM to hear public comment about a proposed Fare Structure for the Algiers Point-Canal Street Ferry and Algiers-Chalmette Ferry.

The public hearing will be held at the City of New Orleans City Council Chambers, 1300 Perdido Street, New Orleans, LA 70112 (nearest Loyola-UPT Streetcar stop at Loyola Avenue at Poydras Street).

Copies of the proposed Ferry Fare Structure will be available for public review online at www.norta.com, at RTA’s Office, 2817 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM weekdays and at City of New Orleans public libraries. 

How to Comment about the Proposed Service Changes

You may attend the public hearing or write to us at RTA, ATTN: Ferry Fare Structure, 2817 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. You may also fax your comments to (504) 648-5228, or e-mail them to ferry@norta.com. Please add “2013 Ferry Fare Structure” in the subject line of your fax or email. You may also telephone RTA’s Rideline at (504) 248-3900 with your comments. Comments should be received by RTA no later than August 5, 2013.

Language Interpretation

Any person who requires language interpretation or special communication accommodations is encouraged to contact RTA at 504-827-3361 or via e-mail at ferry@norta.com, a minimum of 3 working days prior to the public hearing. Every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate your needs.

Assistance for People with Disabilities

For individuals with disabilities, assistive services or copies of public documents can be provided in an alternate format. Please call (504) 248-3900 or (504) 827-7833 (for persons with a hearing impairment) a minimum of 3 working days prior to the public hearing.

1. This Public Hearing conforms to requirements described in the Federal Transit Administration’s Circular 9030.1D, published May 1, 2010, page IV-13.
