Questions From Webinar Attendees
The following are responses to questions asked following the webinar.
How long would it take to get downtown for Cutoff residents?
In the Recommended Network, we are predicting that riders in Cutoff will get downtown about 10-15 minutes faster than currently. It currently takes about 55-60 minutes to get downtown from Cutoff, and we believe it will take about 45 minutes for most Cutoff riders when the Recommended Network is implemented in September 2026.
How will the BRT project affect this plan?
This project is independent from the BRT project. The BRT project is projected to be completed in 2031, but we know that Algiers residents cannot wait that long for improved bus service, so we are making improvements with the current resources we have. Although we may need to adjust some routes when BRT is completed, we believe this will be a significant improvement for most Algiers riders in the meantime.
What will happen with the ferry? What do we need to do to extend ferry hours?
This project will not affect the ferry schedule, but the new 103 General Meyer route and 30-minute service frequency will provide better service to the Algiers Point Ferry Terminal for bus and ferry riders.
