Board of Commissioners

The RTA Board of Commissioners is composed of eight publicly appointed representatives. Five representatives are appointed by the Mayor of New Orleans, and three representatives are appointed by the President of Jefferson Parish.

Executive Leadership

Our executive team is led by the RTA CEO who reports directly to the Regional Transit Authority Board of Commissioners. This team is responsible for leading the agency and executing the goals of the RTA.

Regional Transit Funding

Local sales taxes make up about half of RTA’s total funding. The rest comes from federal grants, fares, interest earnings and miscellaneous revenue.
