Downtown Transit Hub

After completing an Alternative Analysis Study, the RTA Board of Commissioners adopted the locally preferred alternative for a future Downtown Transit Center to be located on the site of the former Southern Railway Terminal in the neutral ground of Basin Street at Canal Street. 

The next steps in this project are to complete the environmental review, develop the conceptual design, and secure funding for final design and construction. During this time, an Interim Downtown Transit Hub will be developed to provided significantly enhanced waiting amenities for riders.
