ELECTION DAY: RTA Helps Voters ‘Roll to the Polls’ with Free Rides (Nov. 5)
- October 28th, 2024
RTA also provided free rides on early voting Saturdays
NEW ORLEANS – On Tuesday, Nov. 5, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will provide free rides as part of its "Roll to the Polls" campaign. Fares are being waived on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries on this day.
Riders will not need to show proof of voter registration, or any RTA passes. RTA also provided free rides during the two Saturdays of early voting (Oct. 19, Oct. 26). (Note: This service is not available for the remainder of early voting this week, just Nov. 5.)
Riders can use their Le Pass app to plot a trip to their polling precincts, which can be found at geauxvote.com.
These services are provided as part of our commitment to transit equity, including waiving fares on the birthdays of Civil Rights icons Rosa Parks (Feb. 4) and Claudette Colvin (Sept. 5).
