NEW ORLEANS - The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) announced the swearing-in of its newest member of its Board of Commissioners, Sunni LeBeouf. Judge Tracey Flemings-Davillier of the Orleans Criminal District Court administered the oath during the commissioners’ board meeting on September 27, 2022. Commissioner LeBeouf is one of five commissioners appointed by New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell. Commissioner LeBoeufwill serve on the Operations Committee.  

“We are delighted to have an industry-wide thought leader passionate about transit to support our journey of creating a world-class transit system for New Orleans and the region. All of us serving on the board of commissioners look forward to working with Commissioner LeBeouf to provide transit services our communities need and deserve,” said Board Chair, Commissioner Mark Raymond, Jr. 

Commissioner LeBeouf currently serves as Assistant Vice President of Community and Public Affairs with Ochsner Health. She is developing community initiatives to improve Louisiana’s health rankings by eliminating barriers to healthcare and bringing more resources to underserved communities.  

Before joining the Ochsner Health team, Commissioner LeBeouf served as City Attorney for the City of New Orleans, where she was responsible for managing complex legal and other matters involving elected and appointed officials, corporate and community stakeholders, City leaders, employees, and the public. For her work as City Attorney, Sunni was named the 2020 New Orleans City Business Woman of the Year.   

Commissioner LeBeouf replaces Laura Bryan, who served since 2018 and ended her board service on August 23, 2022.

"In her four years as City Attorney, and in her current role with Ochsner Health Systems, LeBeouf demonstrated her unwavering dedication to the residents of this City and the hardships they face every single day — one of those being the dismissal of 543,000 nonviolent Municipal and Traffic Court cases. I know Sunni will continue to serve the citizens of New Orleans with passion, grace, elegance, and determination. I wish LeBeouf the best on this next career move.”
