RTA’s “Stuff Dat Holiday Bus” Campaign Brings Holiday Cheer to Covenant House New Orleans
- December 17th, 2024
NEW ORLEANS – Today, the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) celebrated its annual “Stuff Dat Holiday Bus” campaign, spreading holiday cheer and giving back to the community. Over the past weeks, RTA employees, partners, and the community joined forces to donate essential items to support Covenant House New Orleans, an organization providing shelter and critical services for survivors of human trafficking and young people experiencing homelessness.
More than 4,000 items were donated, including winter clothing, personal care products, art supplies, and other essentials to fill our beautifully decorated Holiday Bus and bring joy to youth in need.
“We are very happy with the overwhelming generosity shown during this year’s campaign,” said Lona Edwards Hankins, RTA CEO. “‘Stuff Dat Holiday Bus’ exemplifies the spirit of giving and community, and we are proud to support Covenant House New Orleans and their extraordinary work. We are grateful to our board, business partners, and especially our employees for the generosity shown here today.”
Rhenisha Robertson, CEO of Covenant House New Orleans, expressed gratitude for the partnership: “We deeply appreciate CEO Hankins and the rest of the RTA team for their thoughtfulness in this partnership to address the critical needs of our clients. The holidays can be an especially challenging time for our residents. These items are much needed and will bring so much joy to our program participants.”
This year’s Stuff Dat Holiday Bus relaunch highlights RTA’s commitment to not only connecting New Orleans through transit but also promotes compassion and care for the community we serve. Giving back is just another example of why RTA is How New Orleans Rolls!
