RTA to offer additional Canal Street ferry service to Gretna for LUNA Fête West
- December 6th, 2023
NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) is partnering with the City of Gretna to provide additional ferry service connecting downtown New Orleans to Gretna for LUNA Fête West, from Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 7-10. The RTA will run ferry services from Canal to Gretna on the half hour and from Gretna to Canal on the hour. This service is made possible by the City of Gretna assuming all costs related to the extended service.
The Canal Street-Gretna ferry service will operate throughout the four-day festival. This added service is another example of RTA’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.
The ferry service schedule from Canal is as follows:
Thursday, Dec. 7: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Friday, Dec. 8: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 9: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Sunday, Dec. 10: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
This special event service will not impact the agency’s regular ferry operations. The Chalmette and Canal Street-Algiers Point ferry locations will operate their regular scheduled hours during this period.
A one-way ferry ride is $2 or $4 round-trip, payable by downloading Le Pass, RTA’s transit app. Also available: A one-day Jazzy pass provides unlimited rides on the ferry for $3. For more about the Canal Street-LUNA Fête ferry services, call the Rideline at 504-248-3900.
