RTA’s fall 2024 transit schedule set for Sept. 22, including return of 66-Hayne Loop to regular service
- September 18th, 2024
NEW ORLEANS – On Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will implement its fall 2024 transit schedule. RTA will be returning the 66-Hayne Loop to its previous route after completion of repairs to the Seabrook Bridge; the route will resume serving the University of New Orleans and Southern University-New Orleans. Additionally, Jefferson Parish Transit will assume operations of the 201-Kenner Loop bus route, which will no longer be serviced by RTA.
There will be slight schedule adjustments to seven bus routes, route adjustments to two bus routes, and detours in effect on three routes due to ongoing roadwork. Several schedule adjustments will lead to minor improvements in service frequency.
The following routes will have slight schedule adjustments:
- #3-Tulane-Elmwood
- #8-St. Claude-Arabi
- #9-Broad-Napoleon
- #27-Louisiana
- #61-Lake Forest-Village De L'Est
- #62-Morrison-Bullard
- #103-General Meyer
The following routes will experience route adjustments:
- #66-Hayne Loop
- #114A/114B-Garden Oaks
The following routes will have a detour in effect due to ongoing roadwork:
- #27-Louisiana
- #31/32-Leonidas
- #57-Franklin-Freret
This schedule will benefit from the 21 new buses the RTA has secured and are being deployed over the summer, enhancing service reliability. We are also happy to report that the Chalmette Ferry returned to service last weekend.
Updated schedules and other printed materials have been distributed to popular pick-up locations across the city, including New Orleans Public Library locations, New Orleans Recreation Development Commission (NORDC) facilities, and RTA's A. Philip Randolph Operations Building at 2817 Canal St.
Digital copies are also available at norta.com/service. For additional information, please call the Rideline at (504) 248-3900, check the Le Pass app, visit norta.com/servicealerts, or follow @neworleansrta on X (formerly Twitter).
