RTA CEO Lona Edwards Hankins announced the changes at the Board of Commissioners meeting and briefed the New Orleans City Council, both in November. RTA leadership also provided riders with an overview of the proposed changes at the monthly Riders Advisory Committee and Operations Committee meetings in November and December. RTA hosted a Public Hearing in December and has been engaging with riders and other stakeholders, including at “meet-ups” at local libraries across the city.
RTA will continue to inform riders and other stakeholders about the Winter 2024 Service Change and offer the opportunity for feedback through public comments, at outreach@norta.com. More dates and locations for meet-ups will be announced soon and posted on norta.com. A rider survey will help document rider experience and satisfaction over a six-month period. Riders can learn about this and other information by visiting the Improving Service Reliability page at norta.com/improvingservice or calling the Rideline at (504) 248-3900. Riders can also access routes and purchase fares by using the Le Pass app.
